These cutters are designed to use as much of the bread as possible, only cutting off the crusts. To reduce waste all together you could make your own breadcrumbs or croutons with the leftovers.
I bought the butterfly shape. My daughter loves this and requests butterfly sandwiches all the time. The shape fits commercial bread slices and there is little wastage outside the crusts.

Fun sandwiches
Purchased this to level up the sandwiches. It does this well and our kids love it. It is a bit hard to get through fresh slices of bread but with a little jigging around it cuts. Would probably be better as a cookie cutter type material but it does still work. We also use it on single slices of bread then toast it to level up our brekkie as well.

These sandwich cutters have been so fun in our household. Making an often boring sandwich much more exciting. I may have gotten a bit of a thrill myself about eating a toasted sandwich in the shape of a dinosaur!!!!!!

I got the dinosaur and puzzle cutters and we are now getting through a lot of bread in our house. The kids love having their toast and sandwiches cut into the different shapes and it makes food time more fun for them
